Shell Features There are number of design features in today’s spa shells that make them
extremely appealing and contribute to the safety and comfort of the spa. Here is
a list of some features, and their benefits, for you to consider:
Regular and Lighted Grab Bars. Grab bars are placed in strategic
spots on spas to make it safer to get in and out. You can even get grab bars
with variable light settings for added safety and ambiance when using a spa
after dark.
Lighting. Underwater lighting, once considered an accessory, is now
considered a necessity for all spas. It helps you enter and exit the spa
safely when it’s dark, and it can be used to create ambiance and “moods” for
special occasions. Nearly all manufacturers offer lighting in a variety of
colors, and many now give you the option of energy efficient, long lasting
L.E.D. lighting.
Pillows. Built in pillows are form fitted into the spa's shell,
providing additional comfort when relaxing in the spa. We recommend you look
for pillows that are securely attached to the spa shell because they can be
very annoying if they come off while using the spa.
Aquassage Pillows. This is not a traditional pillow, but
rather a moving massage feature activated by water pressure. It provides a
truly penetrating neck massage and is usually fully adjustable.
Ice Buckets. An ice bucket is the perfect place to keep your
refreshments cold and within reach while soaking in your spa.
Snack Areas. Snack areas are convenient spots to keep for drinks
and snacks while soaking in your spa, and they’re also good for towels, books,
and eyeglasses.
Independent Seating Controls. This is an extremely popular feature,
which allows you to adjust and control the massage jets without having to get
out of your seat.
